What are the possible side effects?

As with all medicines, MIRENA may have side effects in people who are sensitive to the substances contained in its contents.
If you notice any of the following, tell your doctor immediately or contact the emergency department of the hospital nearest you:



•  Infection of internal genital organs (a side effect that can be detected during your birth examination)
• Inflammation of the inner layer of the uterus (a side effect that can be detected during your gynecological examination)
• Cervical inflammation (a side effect that can be detected during your gynecological examination)
• Uterine tearing (a side effect that can be detected during your birth examination)
All these are serious side effects. Emergency medical intervention may be required.
If you notice any of the following, tell your doctor:
•  Depressive mood
•  Irritability
•  Emotion changes
•  Reduced sexual desire
•  Headache
•  Migraine
•  Abdominal pain
•  Swelling of the abdomen
•  Nausea
•  Acne
•  Hair loss
• Clinging
• Back pain
• Lower abdominal pain
• menstrual pain
• Vaginal discharge
• Infection of external genital organs
• Sensitivity to the breast
• Breast pain
• Edema
• Weight gain
• Itching
•  Redness
• Hives
• Eczema
• Extraction
These are the slight side effects of MIRENA.
